The Defense Never Rests

Qin Zhengshu is known as the "Grim Reaper of the Law," with a flawless track record in court. Duan Chengzhou, son of Longcheng's wealthiest magnate Duan Hairong, stands accused of rape and hires Qin Zhengshu to secure a not-guilty verdict. Meanwhile, after learning that Qin has taken his case, Duan Chengzhou spots Qin Hao—Qin Zhengshu’s son—and his pregnant wife Li Qing at a hot pot restaurant. Arrogant and entitled, Duan Chengzhou proceeds to harass and humiliate the couple. At a critical moment, Qin Zhengshu arrives and reveals his identity. But Duan Chengzhou refuses to believe him and continues his assault, only leaving when it’s time for the trial.
